The Challenge
XLVets Ireland's network of 225+ independent veterinary surgeons were experiencing similar field issues, but working in isolation. There was no systematic way to capture or analyse their collective expertise, monitor neonatal defects in cattle, or identify trends across geography, farm conditions and birth history.
The Solutions
Datalineo developed three integrated data solutions
Neonatal Defect Analysis System
Now in its 6th season, XLVets created a mobile-friendly platform enabling vets to capture birth anomalies centrally. Datalineo was employed to identify trends across multiple factors, helping reduce recurring issues. Datalineo's unbiased approach added queries and suggestions XLVets hadn't considered, enhancing project value.

Mobile Pricing Platform
An intuitive mobile tool allowing veterinarians to access pricing and provide real-time quotations during farm visits; over 20,000 products from 65 suppliers, simplified.
Milk Yield Impact Analysis
An analytical model demonstrating the financial impact of the planning the prevention of bacteria like Ostertagia versus reactive and non-medication. This enables vets to have euro-value conversations with farmers, discussing lab results and potential losses to better plan future seasons and mitigate risks.

The Results
What began as a proof of concept has become a catalyst for veterinary engagement, now involving academic institutions and establishing foundations for future research. The findings have been published in peer-reviewed journals including Reproduction in Domestic Animals and reviewed at European levels.
The solutions transformed veterinary practice by enabling data-driven conversations backed by concrete evidence. By aggregating insights from 225+ professionals, XLVets created an invaluable knowledge base where individual veterinarians learn from collective patterns, improving outcomes across the entire network.
